So what is Ear Wax
Earwax is a build-up of hair, dust, dead cells, and cerumen. Cerumen is a natural wax that is a protective coating for the ear canal. Cerumen is produced in small amounts all the time keeping the ears clean. Every person is different when it comes to the quantity of earwax made. When there is an impaction of wax it can cause a feeling of fullness, impair hearing and feel uncomfortable.
A plug of earwax is not a serious problem, more a nuisance.
Ear Drops
For example, olive oil (this is our best preference), almond oil, and sodium bicarbonate. Warm the drops to room temperature before using them. Lie with the affected ear uppermost, pull the pinna (outer ear) backwards and upwards. Apply 5 drops into the ear canal. Stay like this for 5-10 minutes to allow the earwax to soak into the wax and soften it. Make sure you DO NOT use cotton wool as the cotton wool will soak up the oil.  Repeat this twice daily for 5-7 days.
 CHECKLIST BEFORE THE IRRIGATION
